In order to run the various XEPHR tools from your desktop, you must have a current Java Runtime Environment installed, including Java Web Start. For best results, we recommend version 1.4.2_05 which includes Java Web Start.
We recommend that you install Sun JRE Version 1.4.2_05.
The Administration system should function on any relatively current Linux release for Intel CPUs. Red Hat Linux 7.2, 7.3, and 8.0; Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1, Mandrake Linux 9.0, and SuSE Linux 8.1 should present little or no difficulties.
Whatever Linux Distribution you use, we recommend that you install Sun JRE Version 1.4.2_05.
Please ensure that you are running the latest version of Java 1.4.2. If not installed, this should be available via the Mac OS X Software Update.
Apple does not provide a Java Virtual Machine version 1.4 for any version of the Mac OS prior to Mac OS X version 10.2.4. As such, the XEPHR Admin tool will not run on any previous version of the Mac OS either.
The Java Virtual Machine is not supported on any version of Microsoft Windows not listed above. For this reason, XEPHR is also not supported in these environments.
